Soft shell cases have come along way over the years and can offer an alternative to a gig bag or a hard shell case. I would say a soft shell guitar categorically falls in between hard shell cases and gig bags. So why choose a soft shell guitar case over the other guitar cases?

If cost is an issue the soft shell case offers much more rigidity than a gig bag thus giving better protection to your guitar from all but the hardest of impacts.
